Steve has been in contact with the coordinator of one of the biggest Upward programs in Salem since we have been back in the states. He met with the guy this week and came away encouraged about our future of Upward and the outreach that we can have using this tool. Tomorrow before we leave for Bellevue, Steve will attend a coaches training session and get a little more insight into the training of coaches, as well as some other valuable information.
Some other things that Steve has been able to do is to watch and even coach some of Kobe's basketball at the Hoop. He's gotten ideas on skills to work on and drills to do. He even has been invited to come and volunteer coach whenever he can. This is all super valuable for improving our Upward ministry in Brasil.
Also, he'll be coaching the Western Mennonite boys 7th grade basketball team, which Kobe will play on. We are all looking forward to that starting in Jan.
