Funny Thing

We have two dogs and are living at the church, and have been since October 14th...in one room. A lot of the times, we have to keep the dogs tied up. At night we move them to a covered area in case it rains. Well, last night Steve and Collin were moving
Shadow's dog house to the covered area. I was getting his food and water dish over there. All of the sudden I heard this scream/yell/babble from Collin. The noise that came out of his mouth is not reproducible. I ran over to where he and Steve were and Steve was already laughing. I asked Collin what happened and he said that he felt something on his arm. He thought it was a branch rubbing on his arm and he shrugged his shoulder to move it and get the branch off, but it didn't come off. Then he looked down and saw a big honking cockroach on his arm.....GROSS!!! When I say big honking, I am talking about 2 inches or more long and fat! It was funny.

It's amazing what we can get used to though. The first couple of years here, I would freak out at a cockroach. Now, I really don't like them that much, but if I see one in the shower with me, I can calmly take of my flip flop, smack it, flip it out with the tip of my flip flop and resume showering.

You may be wondering why in the world I would have flip flops on in the shower? Well, in a lot of houses, the shower heads are electric. We put tape on the handle and wear flip flops to guard against getting shocked. It's just another thing we have to get used to.
